EXPLORER – UnatSolar P3 Portable Power Packs

Introduction:

This document describes the portable power packs from UnatSolar as a power source to the Thrane & Thrane EXPLORER 100/110 (WorldPro 1000 series) terminals.

Product Description:

Incorporating solid state, thin-film, PowerFLEX™ solar cells the UnatSolar foldable power packs is a flexible, lightweight, rugged and reliable source of power in remote areas, with limited or no power service. The two UnatSolar products tested are the P3-30 (30 Watt) and P3-55 (55 Watt) Power Packs.

Note:

The EXPLORER battery must be inserted before connecting the solar panel and DC/DC adapter. Remember to order the DC/DC adapter article code 102228. The terminals must be switched ON to charge the battery. If the EXPLORER battery is completely discharged, it is recommended to charge the terminals for some time before pointing towards the satellite.

Tested:

In direct sunlight the charge time is approx. 4 hours, when the system is registered on the network and the handset is connected. Charge time is 3 hrs. if the system is only charging. EXPLORER 100/110 powers on automatically when external power is connected.
